Improving Students and Staff Experience through Interactive Mapping of the Physical and Natural Environment around your University Campus

Intelligent Campus Maps for Universities

We develop interactive campus maps which show locations of spaces, facilities and items specific to University estate and only accessible by staff and students e.g. secure bicycle sheds, car parks, swipe entrances to buildings, recycling points etc.

  • Multiple spaces and features can be located and displayed at the same time.
  • Customised maps can be embedded in any website or developed for mobile applications.
  • In-building routing capability providing directions to floors, lecture theatres, meeting rooms etc.
  • Integration of IoT sensors data to show real-time information.
  • Conforming to your accessibility, style and branding guidelines.

We partnered with the University of Cambridge to create an interactive map that makes every journey easier.

Biodiversity Hubs - Interactive Database and Dashboards Monitoring Biodiversity on your Campus

Campus Environmental Data Hub

Working with the University of Edinburgh's in-house Sustainability team and ecologists, EDINA created a Campus Environmental Data Hub that provides detailed, easily accessible information and visual representations of the condition of green areas around the University.

This includes University buildings (to help users locate themselves in relation to familiar buildings), animal sightings data, hedgerow data, habitat condition data and Urban Greening Factor score for each habitat type.

This score is then aggregated at each site level to provide a score from 0 to 1 to reflect the greenness of the site.

Summary statistics and filters included in the dashboard allow users to query campus-by-campus, by habitat type and by ecological condition.

This creates a single repository of authoritative environmental data which can be continually developed to see where areas can be improved, and to track change over time.
